IPD Fellowship for International Study

Description

The IPD Fellowships for International Study provides financial support to Northwestern undergraduate students who go abroad on IPD programs.

Award details

Awards of up to $3,000 are based on academic merit, essay quality, and financial need.

Eligibility

The IPD Fellowship for International Study is open to Northwestern undergraduates applying to participate in any IPD study abroad program.

Application deadlines

  • November 1 for Spring Quarter programs
  • February 10 for Fall Quarter and Full Year programs
  • March 1 for Summer Quarter programs
  • June 1 for Winter Quarter and Winter-Spring Quarter programs

Guidelines

Fellowship disbursement is contingent upon participation in the specific IPD program to which the student has applied. If a student withdraws or is dismissed from their IPD study abroad program, their IPD Study Abroad Fellowship may be canceled. The student is responsible for any balance due to resulting from this loss of funding. Refer to the  Withdrawal Policies for Northwestern-Sponsored Programs for more information about this policy.  

Fellowship recipients are expected to uphold exemplary standards of conduct, submit regular entries to the IPD blog during their study abroad program, and submit a reflective essay to IPD upon completion of his or her program. Recipients are also expected to participate in information sessions, orientation, and other events to assist IPD with program recruitment and to aid future program participants.
