RETURNEE INFORMATION FOR CONTEMPORARY BRAZIL PROGRAM
Program Evaluation
Please click on the link below to access the online evaluation for your program. The survey should take you about 15-20 minutes to complete. This evaluation will supplement the information you provided in your FGV evaluation and provide us with important feedback to improve the program for future students.
Please note that your study abroad credit will not be transferred to your Northwestern transcript, nor will you be able to pick up a copy of your FGV transcript, until you have submitted your Program Evaluation.
Contemporary Brazil Program Evaluation (Fall 2010)
Fall Photo Contest (Deadline: Friday, January 7, 2011, at 5:00pm)
Show off your photography skills by entering the IPD photo contest!
Students may enter up to six photographs. The best photographs are ones that showcase program participants, content, activities, and excursions and clearly evoke the country or the subject matter you studied while abroad.
Winners will be chosen in three categories—academics, landscape, and general—so we encourage every student to submit photos in each category to increase their chances of winning! Gift certificates to amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, or Starbucks will be awarded as follows:
-1st place: $50 Gift Certificate
-2nd place: $30 Gift Certificate
-3rd place: $20 Gift Certificate
Winning photos will be displayed in the IPD office and on the IPD website, as well as used for marketing purposes.
To enter, submit the following by the January 7, 2011, deadline:
-Up to 6 high-resolution photos renamed “lastname_Brazil_#1-6” and emailed to ipd@northwestern.edu
-NU-IPD Video & Photo Waiver/Release Form
Transcripts & Credit
Copies of your transcripts will be available for pick-up at the IPD office in mid-January, but only after you have completed your evaluation. You will need your FGV transcript to support your petition for credit. Language Placement Exam
If you are seeking specific language credit from your study abroad program, check with the language department from which you are seeking credit regarding their rules and regulations for taking a language placement exam. This exam allows the department to determine your progress, current linguistic ability, and the type of departmental credit to grant you.
Returnee Events
The Study Abroad Office is hosting a Returnee Social for all Fall Quarter study abroad students on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the John Evans Alumni Center. This is an informal event for returnees to share their experiences and learn how to stay involved in international activities on campus!
IPD is also planning to host a returnee event for Contemporary Brazil alums. More information to follow!
