Program Description:

École Polytechnique, located 30 minutes from the center of Paris, is a world-class research institution. The university has been educating the French scientific, industrial and political elite since the time of the Revolution. The campus is comparable to a U.S. university in that there is a real sense of community. Students live on campus and have a wide-range of activities, sports and student groups to choose from while at the same time enjoying the proximity to one of the great cities of the world.

École Polytechnique is renowned for their training in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, biology, chemistry, and economics. Students enroll directly in the university and take classes with local students.

Program Costs:

École Polytechnique exchange students pay Northwestern tuition ($15,612 for Fall 2014, $23,418 for Winter/Spring 2015, $39,030 for the full academic year 2014-2015). Per quarter, students should also budget approximately $6000 for housing and meals, about $1,500 for international airfare, and approximately $3,500 for personal expenses, such as travel and entertainment.

Students applying to this program may be eligible for IPD Study Abroad Fellowships and for external funding opportunities. Students participating in this program are subject to Withdrawal Policies for Northwestern-Sponsored Programs.
